Severe dental emergencies can be scary and traumatizing for parents and their children experiencing one. At Westpark Pediatric Dentistry, we realize that emergencies don’t happen at the most convenient times, therefore we offer after-hours severe emergency services. We are here for our patients of Richmond, Texas whenever they need us, your children are our top priority.

Severe dental emergencies consist of either a knocked out or broken tooth and in most cases a lot of blood. For some emergencies, time is of the essence to either save the tooth or to just get your child out of the pain they are experiencing. Being known as an emergency dentist, Dr. Mila believes that there are many different types of dental emergencies, severe and not severe.

Dental Emergency Guide

Severe emergencies need immediate attention by our staff and probably have to be treated right away. Children are very physically active and can be physical in sports that they play, therefore a dental emergency is bound to happen. Some emergencies we would suggest contacting us immediately for would be:

Knocked-out Tooth: Getting a tooth abruptly knocked out is very painful. Luckily, in some cases, the tooth can be placed back into the socket to heal. If this happens to your child contact us right away.

Broken Tooth: A tooth can break in many different ways, sometimes breaking at the root or the crown breaking in half. Either way, seeing our dentist right away is in the best interest of the safety and health of your child and their tooth.

Any constant pain and discomfort can indicate a dental problem, dental emergencies that we would have you schedule an appointment for would include:

Toothache: A toothache is a good indication that there might be some accumulated decay. Only a dental professional like Dr. Mia can diagnose a toothache.

Swollen or Bleeding Gums: Gum disease is common and can be taken care of if caught and treated quickly.

With severe dental emergencies, contact Westpark Pediatric Dentistry immediately to be seen at our Richmond, Texas office. Any sort of pain we treat as an emergency, please schedule an appointment as soon as you can to get your child seen and treated.
